Alkaline New Album hits Billboard
Alkaline’s debut “New Level Unlocked” has landed in the number one position on the Billboard Top Reggae albums chart.
The album produced independently by DJ Frass, is ahead of Joss Stone’s Water For Your Soul which spent 35 weeks on the chart. Meanwhile, Trinidad’s soca singer, Machel Montano is ranked number 9 for Monk Evolution and Bob Marley and The Wailers rounds out the top 10 with Easy Skanking in Boston 78.
Alkaline has also made it to the iTunes Reggae album chart. The dancehall deejay settles in the number 3 position while the top spot is controlled by reggae legend Bob Marley, who is ranked 1 and 2 respectively for Legend (Remastered) and Legend (Deluxe Edition).
Meanwhile, Sean Paul has gained momentum on the Billboard Hot 100 chart for his collab with Sia. Cheap Thrills that was last week ranked 79, is currently 39.
All in all, it is a good look for reggae and dancehall on the international front.
